Epic views of the Hong Kong skyline are the icing on the cake at Above & Beyond where some of the city’s most highly regarded Cantonese cuisine emanates from a kitchen run by executive chef Paul Tsui. For many, this is up there with best Chinese restaurants in the city, with its soothingly deluxe dining room, designed by Sir Terrence Conran and dazzling with its sizzling cuisine and service to match. The menu is broad-reaching with contemporary and classic dishes alike, matched by an equally broad-reaching wine list that favours those with deep pockets. Weekend dim sum (from 11.30-3.30pm) is taken particularly seriously – think shrimps and sea cucumber dumplings complemented by deep-fried shrimp spring rolls, wahsed down with Chinese tea.
