Make an entrance as you sashay down the stairs of this hotel restaurant decked out like a Shanghai mansion circa mid-1930s. Rosewood furnishings, stone balustrades, plush sofas, and pot plants put this firmly in the old school box of restaurant design but this suits the restaurant’s traditional homestyle Chinese cooking. Popular choices include bird's nest soup with crab meat, steamed fresh garoupa, stir-fried scallops, slow-cooked chicken or crispy duck. Wok-fried Iberico pork and beef tenderloin with crunchy vegetables both hit the mark, too. And, cleverly, there are light and full portion options with respective price differentials.
Dim sum is popular, particularly at the weekends. But the real draw, for some, are the quixotic views across the harbour.
