The Bar at the Peninsula is a wood-panelled den with velvet pouffes and leather armchairs. If the dark and moody panelling smacks too much of masculine clubbiness, there is nothing as discriminatory about the cocktail list. From White Ladies and Screwdrivers to Brambles and Vespers, the list is a highbrow affair. The signature Mistress is a tequila and mezcal concoction with time-infused Cointreau, salted pineapple and lime juice. Soak it all up with a range of fish, chicken, duck and lamb or American beef.
