This mesmerizing space, designed by Masamichi Katayama, takes in a rooftop terrace, marble bar and slouchey lounge with low bench seating and multiple cushions of all shades and hues. Wash a blue-hued lighting across the interior and add in some DJ beats, and it’s no surprise it’s renowned throughout the city. But the real pièce de résistance is the magnificent cityscape view from the 118th floor of the city’s ICC Tower. For maximum effect, arrive late when the lights are up.
Plates of delicious sushi and oysters, are proffered from a small adjoining sushi bar while classic cocktails or a full range of spirits sate most tastes and desires. Others take solace in the wine list: from Veuve Clicquot or Pol Roger to DP or Krug, you won’t be wanting for fizz from the top Champagne houses. There’s also big name wine, be it Super Tuscan Guado al Tasso or Napa Valley Cab Sauv from Far Niente. All very wonderful, though critics warn you may not make any new discoveries here. Watch out for promotions at the weekend and early evenings.
