The dim sum of this ‘dragon in the sky’ might be dwarfed by its rival across the harbour but for enviable Kowloon location and views, it is the tops – though at these heights don’t expect to enjoy too much detail. Perched on the 102nd floor of the ICC Tower, there’s no dwarfing this Ritz Carlton, and besides the epic views, the feel within the dining room is grand, too, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, Brobdingnagian ceilings and marble columns.
Braised pork belly with a black vinegar sauce is the paradigm of depth and balance while barbecued Iberian pork with honey also gets rave reviews. Off the dim sum menu try steamed turnip cake with fish maw in chili sauce or fresh shrimp dumplings. The drinks offering is equally classy, underscored by that triumvirate of good taste: classic cocktails, claret and premium loose-leaf teas. Many believe that for the the whole experience, cuisine and views, it’s a bargain.
