Navigate past the bouncer on the doorway of this new bar that hit town in early 2020, and you’ll find a bar that glows with warmth and bonhomie, with a traditional somewhat masculine ambience – all leather seats, brass fittings and loudish music that seems to put its guests at ease.
Cocktails are the thing. A Champagne julep made with cognac, apple brandy, mint and bergamot is a nice starter, while their whiskey sour, made with three different whiskies and acacia honey, and an excellent Sazerac, made with honey anise liqueur and Peychaud’s, hit all the right notes. Their burger is the popular choice on the food front, while chicken liver parfait with home made chips, truffled mac & cheese or free range chicken nuggets provide further options.
